What is a Poke anyway?
Poke (pronounced in Hawaiian as “POH-keh”) is a traditional dish from Hawaii, consisting of cubes of fresh raw fish, usually tuna or salmon, seasoned with various sauces and toppings.
In its classic Hawaiian version, poke is simply a bowl of raw fish with basic seasoning like soy sauce, sesame oil, seaweed, green onions, and sesame seeds.
Modern versions, which have spread to the U.S. and worldwide, are like “sushi in a bowl” with a variety of additions:
rice or vegetables as a base, fish or chicken, different sauces, fresh vegetables, and toppings like nuts, crispy onions, and more.
At its core, it’s a light, healthy, refreshing, and personalized dish — everyone builds their own bowl according to the flavors they like.
Can I assemble my own bowl?
Of course, there is also the option of custom assembly.
But we recommend letting our team take the lead – it’s not just a combination of ingredients, but a carefully constructed harmony of flavors.
Do you also have vegan/gluten-free dishes?
